When an outlet won’t work, sometimes your multimeter or other tester will say it should! But the acid test remains running a good old light bulb. This master electrician recommends using such a bulb and socket and not relying so much on electrical testers that are fooled by half-poor connections and phantom voltages.

It only features on the units having a 15A, BS 546 socket. It does not feature on the modern up-to-date units that have a 13A, BS 1363 socket.
The thing about these 15A socket units however…..They’re no longer made.
These days, you can only buy these units with a 13A socket on them.
So there we are, peoples!
