In this next video in the PLUGS mini-series, we carry on with adaptors. This time however, we get to look at adaptors associated with Bayonet Cap lamp holders.
It was not uncommon years ago, to plug things into light sockets other than light bulbs: Shavers, and even low-wattage electric irons (normally around 3-400w back then!) so therefore, adaptors were needed in order to connect these things into light sockets.
Makes of equipment in this video include British General ( Still around today, known as BG ) and CLANG. The brown lamp holder is made by Rock.
In this video, I use the adaptors in different various configurations, and I even power-up a few of them, just to show that they are still very much useable!
Even though I do use a few of the adaptors in mains-powered lighting sockets from one week to the next, I DO NOT RECOMMEND that you find light socket adaptors like these, and do the same thing.
If you do so, then it is entirely at your own risk, and I will not accept responibility or liability for injury / death, or damage to property. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !
Due to modern electrical regulations, and also because of how tricky / dodgy some of these adaptors are, the majority of them are no longer produced, or for that matter, not permitted for import into the UK. Nowadays, generally as a rule, the only thing plugged into light sockets are light bulbs.
…..And BoomBoxDeluxe’s shaver!
Remember peoples, stay safe, and don’t dice with electricity!
