Mattel DeLorean – Flux Inductor Powered

A project to bring in a couple of learned electrical circuit techniques…a fun idea to convert a $1.07 display model.

The DeLorean now has a working Flux Inductor circuit (3x axial inductors that work similarly to a Joule Thief toroid). It has a fitted Flux Capacitor light between the seats, red and yellow interior lighting and blue LED’s illuminate the outside road area.

Powered by a single AA battery for the interior lighting or, with a micro Tesla tower for all lights, the model now sports a look that i’m quite pleased with

Exciter circuit uses a BD135 (because I blew up the intended and better 2SC1020) and uses a Walgreen pill bottle as the tower. Voltage is 7.5V from a converted vehicle type multi-voltage DC/DC adapter

????????????? Turning the LEDs down ?KATO Interior Lighting Kit, ver.2

KATO LED Interior-Beleuchtungs-Set ver. 2 ist zu hell.
Wenn ich sie auf meiner Modelle installiert, hat sie nicht das richtige Aussehen.
Vor allem auf die Dcc-Tracks möchte ich sie dunkler zu machen.
In einem Zustand des Herstellers ist der CRD mit 18mA (Rating) auf der Platine. CRD kann heller leuchten die LED. Ich habe beschlossen, es durch eine 5.6mA ersetzen CRD.

The KATO LED Interior Lighting Kit, ver.2 is too bright.
When I installed them on my models, they did not look like the real thing.
Especially on the dcc tracks, I would like to make them darker.
In a state of the manufacturer, there is the CRD with 18mA rating on the circuit board. The CRD lets shine brighter the LED. I have decided to replace it with a 5.6mA CRD.

We show you guys how to install a basic LED strip we purchased ay our local automotive goods shop. This is a nice European touch and adds a whole lot of style, for not that much money!

Keep in mind after we installed the strip under the dash originally, it way WAY too bright to be driving at night safely. So we moved the lights to under the bucket seats and then got the results we originally wanted to add in the first place. Interior lighting! It’s awesome stuff!

*Please excuse the editing mistake at the end of the video. The music was supposed to fade out like usual, but obviously it just keeps on going! That’s my fault. Sorry guys.

The train has a powered unit and a non-powered dummy unit. The train has an mfx digital decoder and extensive sound functions. It also has controlled high efficiency propulsion. The train has a powerful motor with a bell-shaped armature and a flywheel, mounted in the Jakobs truck. 2 axles powered. Traction tires. The train has factory-installed interior lighting. The headlights and the interior lighting are maintenance-free warm white LEDs. The headlights and marker lights change with the direction of travel on both units. The train destination sign has prototypical yellow LEDs. The headlights, train destination sign, and dual red marker lights will work in conventional operation and can be controlled digitally. The frame and bodies have detailed construction and there is a free view through the windows. The train has interior details, closed diaphragm connections, and a guide mechanism on the Jakobs truck between the rail car halves. There is a 5-conductor coupling to connect the rail cars. Total length approximately 96.4 cm / 38″.
