how the heck can …
how the heck can you stick a knife in the hot and ground/neutral portion of the socket at the same time? I mean, in order for a short to occur, you have to connect the hot to some other part of the socket, or connect it to a ground such as your plumbing, or you, standing in a pool of water while doing it… lol…
this really doesn’t make a terrible amount of sense dude.

uhhh I stick things into electrical sockets all the time. It’s fine so long as you aren’t grounded, and aren’t touching the shorted part, because obviously it gets pretty damned hot.

i put a paperclip in a school science class socket once, i was smart enough to turn the safety on, put the clip in, then hit “reset”. we had a sub, to say the least our school administration wasnt happy about it at all. i burned the socket out and burned a kids backpack. they didnt think it was a good science expiriment…
