Does anybody know of a iPod external battery that charges through the mains?

Hey,

I have been looking around for a cheap external battery to charge my iPod Classic. I am going on a trip to Berlin from the UK soon on a coach, and i need an external battery that will charge my iPod when it’s own battery runs out. We will not be stopping at any hotels along the way, so i will not be able to keep recharging the iPod through the mains charger i already have. Does anybody know of an external battery for my iPod, that is charged through a mains socket (NOT USB). It needs to be cheap too!

How do I install a ‘table lamp rocker’ style on/off switch to a lamp that currently switches on/off from mains?

I have 2 touch lamps that thanks to the bulbs blowing no longer work as such. Have had them repaired before and was expensive and if I do so again I know that they will probably go again! At present we have to switch them on/off from the mains socket which is a bit of a nuisance as they’re used as bedside lamps. Needless to say the dimmer function no longer works but can live with that. Thought I may be able to salvage them by putting in an on/off switch directly on to the power cord like traditional table lamps. Is this easy to do or do I need an electrician-I can actually wire a plug!

Relatively easy. To by-pass the touch control, go into the base of the lamp. Remove the box control and wire cord into wires that go to the socket or sockets. You can add in a rocker on/off switch anywhere it is easy for you to reach. Most rockers come with install instructions and some vary but usually you cut the hot side and screw the leads into the rocker. Pretty easy.
