my friend told me that leaving the plug of an appliance in the socket uses electricity, can anyone confirm this?
It depends what the appliance is. A coffee pot with a timer yes, without no. Digital radios yes to keep the stations in memory. Toaster no, anything with a clock like a vcr or microwave yes, tv’s usually have the standby power listed in the owners manual. Vacum cleaner, table lamp no. Cordless phone yes. How’s that for a sloppy list ?

because like from my perspective im thinking like in a household, if you have to much stuff plugged into a wall and suckin too much power yo would have to flip the breaker? does it have the same effect, say im running 3 12v accesories off of the 1 cig lighter would that cause me to blow a fuse?
