Question about paper clip in electrical socket?

About 6 days ago in school, I stuck two ends of a paper clip in an electrical socket.. since the guys wouldn’t do it. Anyways, 5 fingers of mine got burnt from the melting paper clip. They’re better now and they don’t hurt but my two index fingers (which both are burnt/cut on the fingertips and below) feel really weird when I touch things. I guess you could say their sensitive.
Can someone tell me if they can lose feeling permanently or any other things that can happen after this incident?
First of all, why did you do something as stupid as that? BTW, no you haven’t lost feeling.
