GREENSTAR HEATSLAVE 18/25Kw combi boiler the electrician ran a twin and earth 2.5 mm from a socket to a 5A fused box and then he hooked up the combi boiler heat resistant cable via the 5A fused box. Should he have ran a dedicated cable from the consumer unit and what mm Twin and Earth should be used from the consumer unit and what MCB should be fitted using the latter method from the consumer unit.
yes what he has done is fine but check the manufacturers instructions for the fuse rating. most take a 3amp fuse but some also use a 5amp like the keston boilers for example (due to the mahosive fan inside) but always check the manufacturers installation instructions.
time served plumbers still dont get it right.
ive just checked the MI's for you and the electrician was 100% right – the greenstar heatslave requires a 5amp fused socket/spur
